يصف العلاقة الاتجاهية بين وجه وخلف القطعة النقدية. تستخدم اتجاهات عقار الساعة لتحديد تلك العلاقة. فالساعة 12 أو 0 لتوصيف تطابق الوجه والخلف، أما الساعة السادسة تستخدم عندما يكون اتجاه الخلف معاكس تماما لاتجاه الوجه.
