Oxidation is a chemical process in which a metal is blackened as a reaction to oxygen. Antique or oxidized is chemical finish on brass alloys or silver-plated brass surfaces produced by various aqueous sulfide solutions. Color can vary from a rich golden hue to almost black and its darkness can be specified as: Light, Medium or Dark.
