Title: F.A.O. world collection (5Lbp) - German Tag
Description: F.A.O. world collection
1978. Lebanon
It is estimated that the civil war in
Lebanon since 1976 has caused damage
to industry and private individuals
amounting to the equivalent of around
DM 5 billion. More than 6% of the
working-age population died. Many
of the refugees do not return home.
Around a quarter of the population
now lives on the edge of the subsistence
level. In 1978 the economic and
political situation worsened, so that the
future of the audited state is likely
to remain uncertain for a long time.
